DCB Announces 2019 Commencement

Dakota College at Bottineau is proud to announce its annual graduation ceremony to be held on Friday, May 10th at 3:00 pm in Thatcher Hall. The college opened in 1906 as the North Dakota School of Forestry. This year marks the 113th graduation ceremony. A total of 197 associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates will be awarded. DCB graduates students in fields of health care, web design, information technology, and wildlife. Along with a strong liberal arts curriculum, DCB is also known for a robust distance-learning program through online courses and dual credit offerings at area high schools.

DCB Space Grant Scholarship Recipients Announced

The North Dakota Space Grant Consortium, under the direction of the University of North Dakota, made available $7,000 in scholarship funds to students at Dakota College at Bottineau. These funds were awarded to students who show promise in the areas of science, technology, engineering or math (STEM).

DCB Recognizes 2019 Leap Graduates

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is proud to announce the LEAP (Leading to Education and Advanced Preparation) program graduates. Designed for high schools, LEAP allows high school students to earn a Certificate of College Studies alongside their high school diploma. This spring DCB graduates 18 students from eight high schools in North Dakota; Bottineau, Drake, Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood, Newburg, Our Redeemers, Rugby, Westhope and homeschool. Each graduate will be acknowledged as a high school and college graduate at their high school commencement exercise.

DCB Announces Conservation Award Recipient

The annual Dakota College at Bottineau “DCB Conservation Award” will be presented on Wednesday, April 24 at 10:00 A.M. in the Alumni Center - Thatcher Hall. This award is given during the school’s annual Earth Day Celebration. The award presentation will conclude with a ceremonial planting of an Earth Day tree on the campus.

Abrahamson Receives All-ND Academic Team Recognition

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) student, Alex Abrahamson, St. John ND has been named to the 2019 All-North Dakota Academic Team, which recognizes the academic achievements of community college students across North Dakota. Alex, along with the 12 other North Dakota community college students, were honored at a dinner and awards ceremony on March 19 at Bismarck State College.

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) announces a summer camp for high school-aged women to explore their interest in programs leading to nontraditional fields. Through a grant received from the ND Career and Tech Education, DCB is hosting a summer camp for young women to explore aquaculture and hydroculture programs.

To assist in promoting interest among students in grades 7-10 pursuing careers in STEM fields Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) has been awarded a grant from North Dakota Career and Technology Education (ND CTE).

Project WET Facilitator Training Held

Members of Dakota College at Bottineau faculty and students attended the Project-Water Education for Teachers (Project WET) facilitator training at the ND Water Commission in Bismarck February 16-17, 2019. The leadership workshop taught strategies for Project WET facilitation. The workshop was designed for K-12 teachers, informal educators, and leaders who work with kids and want to share the importance of water in our lives.

DCB Hires Foundation Director

Dakota College at Bottineau has hired a new Foundation Director. Leslie Herslip-Stevens officially started her position at DCB on February 5, 2019. She will coordinate and manage all activities associated with the DCB Foundation, including new initiatives for gifting opportunities.
