DCB Offers Live, Interactive, Virtual Lectures

Dakota College at Bottineau offers an Education Outreach program to area residents, schools and businesses. Faculty and staff highlight their expertise on a variety of topics. Areas range from photography and arts to health and team building. The presentations may be interactive classroom presentations, lectures and most are suitable for all ages. DCB offers this program as a free service providing live, interactive, virtual lectures.

Honor Roll List & The Dean's List

Dakota College at Bottineau recognizes students from the fall 2020 semester for their academic success. This academic success recognizes outstanding students who are investing time, energy and resources to becoming contributing members of society. Dean’s List students maintain a GPA of 3.5 and higher and the Honor Roll recognizes students who have achieved a GPA of 3.0-3.49. We are pleased that they have achieved a high level of academic excellence.

DCB Offers Community Study Abroad Course in Ireland

The Dakota College at Bottineau’s photography program is once again planning a study abroad course in Ireland for outdoor photography. This course is open to community members as well as college students. The 2021 trip will mark the fourth year for this wonderful class. Clint Saunders, the head of the photography program at DCB started the study abroad course in 2018. The 2020 trip had to be cancelled due to COVID, but Saunders expects a large turnout for the 2021 trip stating, “If travel can get back to normal by September, I think the 2021 trip will be our largest group. Everyone is ready to get out and explore the world again, and what could be a better place to start than in Ireland.” The trip is scheduled for September 5 – September 12, 2021.

DCB Announces High School Photo Contest

The Dakota College at Bottineau’s photography program is pleased to announce the 2021 Annual High School Photo Contest. There will be 25 winning entries with special prizes offered to the top three. All 25 winning entries will receive a 16x20 inch archival giclee print of their winning photo, and an exhibition in an art show, including an artist’s reception and studio and campus tour at Dakota College. The top three entry prizes include a first-place prize of a Canon EOS 70D DSLR Camera with EF 16-35mm f2.8L II Lens and a $500 scholarship. Second and third places include a $750 and $500 scholarship respectively to Dakota College at Bottineau. Scholarships are applicable for full time students at Dakota College at Bottineau.

DCB Campus Nurse Named to Academic Discipline Group

Dakota College at Bottineau’s (DCB) Campus Nurse, Susan Indvik has been selected by the North Dakota University System to chair the Allied Health/Medical Lab Science within the Academic Discipline Group (ADG). Indvik will act as the ADG Chairperson. ADG is responsible to facilitate internal and external conversations and vote for institutional recommendations for Allied Health and Medical Lab Sciences within the North Dakota University System.

Learning Computers from the Inside Out

As a student majoring in computer science at a four-year university, Daniel Wilke realized he didn’t know much about the hardware inside the computers he worked on. “I was learning about database design and software development, but I also wanted to know about how the parts fit together and how it all worked,” says Daniel. So, he transferred to the Information Technology (IT) program offered by Dakota College at Bottineau on the Minot State University (MSU) campus.

Tia Blanchard named first recipient of the Jerome Indivk Scholarship

Dakota College at Bottineau nursing student Tia Blanchard has been named the first recipient of a new scholarship; Jerome Indvik Scholarship. The scholarship is named after Jerome Indvik, who was a lifelong resident of Bottineau County. Jerome was the eldest son of Lars Indvik and Mable (Backman) Indvik.
