Dakota College Recognizes Excellence

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) held its annual employee recognition luncheon last week. Excellence awards, which are determined by students and peers, were presented to faculty and staff. The Employee Excellence awards are intended to recognize and reward employee efforts whose job performance adds value to the college experience for students, colleagues, and the campus community. Recipients demonstrate qualities that make it clear their contributions are exemplary and go beyond what is required for the routine discharge of their duties. JaLee Lynnes, Financial Aid Specialist, Scott Johnson, Mathematics Professor and Tara DeCrans, Assistant Nursing Professor are the 2026 recipients.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter of Beta Rho Etta at Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) inducted 35 students this spring. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the official honor society for two-year colleges, recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) since 1929. Founded in 1918, PTK celebrates academic achievement and fosters personal growth, leadership, and service among community and technical college students. With nearly 1,250 chapters in 11 nations and over 4.3 million students inducted, PTK provides a transformative experience, connecting its 230,000 active members to opportunities for scholarships, leadership development, and success beyond the classroom. By offering access to exclusive resources and a supportive community, PTK empowers students to excel academically and reach their full potential.

The program is established for student involvement from every program and degree. They focus on developing leadership skills and life experience through community involvement in service to others.

Dakota College Announces 2026 Commencement

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is excited to recognize students at the 2026 commencement ceremony. The ceremony will be held in the gym located in Thatcher Hall and will recognize 114 of the 202 graduating students on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 3:00 pm. The commencement event will also be streamed.
