LeaderJacks Last Event for the Academic Year
Date Published: 5/12/26

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) offers student leadership opportunities through the LeaderJacks program on the DCB campus. The program is established for student involvement from every program and degree. They focus on developing leadership skills and life experience through community involvement in service to others.
Throughout the academic year, the LeaderJacks accomplished a variety of projects; helping with gardens at the Good Samaritan Center, assisting kids at Santa’s shop event, volunteering at Science Olympiad, Water Festival, and Earth Day. They held fundraisers such as a baked potato and deer sausage lunch at DCB. All the events benefited the community, either in the time that was invested or the dollars that were raised to support projects to donate back to the community. The LeaderJacks participated in their last activity for the academic year on May 7, 2026. Using funds they raised, the LeaderJacks purchased a book for each of the 43 first graders at Bottineau Public School. They hand-delivered the books in person to the classroom. Erika Hamilton shared, "It was a fun event where we were able to see the happy faces of the kids who benefited from our work".
