Lindgren Accepts Director Position

Dakota College at Bottineau is happy to announce Misty Lindgren has accepted the Director for Academic Affairs position. The Director for Academic Affairs assists with the development and review of curriculum and provides input to comprehensive academic planning. Misty was selected due to her innovative skill set, specifically in opportunities that align with the academic mission and new programs. She will be responsible for managing a broad range of activities in support of strategic planning, accreditation, scholarly activity, academic support, and faculty development.

Students Inducted to 2023 All North Dakota Academic Team

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) at Dakota College at Bottineau recently had two students selected by the State to the 2023 All North Dakota Academic Team. Based on the outstanding academic performance and service to the college community: • Loukas Triantis from Sydney, Australia, • Karyssa Watson from Rocanville, SK These top performing students are eligible for academic scholarships to the four-year North Dakota universities. In North Dakota, the community college awards are co-sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and the North Dakota University System College Technical Education Council. The academic team recognition program is active in 37 states.

Paramedic Students Awarded Scholarships

Dakota College at Bottineau has six students who are recipients of the ND Emergency Medical Services Foundation (NDEMS Foundation) scholarship. In collaboration with Trinity Health-First Response Ground Unit of Minot offers a Paramedic Technology program starting each June. Mark Haugen from the NDEMS Foundation awarded each of the six paramedic students in Minot on Friday, January 27th. Each successful applicant must be enrolled in a nationally credited paramedic program in North Dakota. In addition, the student must be successfully progressing toward graduation.

Paramedic Program Deadline Fast Approaching

Careers in emergency medicine are growing in popularity and demand. The Paramedic Technology program through Dakota College at Bottineau in collaboration with Trinity-First Response Ground and Trinity Health is now accepting applications for a 14-month program. The Paramedic Technology program is for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) who want to advance the level of care they can provide. To apply, you must be a nationally certified emergency medical technician (EMT) and hold a current AHA BLS CPR certificate prior to the start of the course. There is an interview process on April 7th for anyone who submits a completed application.

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) Annual Campus Read program is excited to announce the March guest speaker. Derrick Braaten of the Braaten Law Firm in Bismarck will speak to the campus and Bottineau community about agricultural law in North Dakota. Braaten’s presentation will be presented virtually March 22 on the Dakota College at Bottineau campus.

Every year, the North Dakota Nursery, Greenhouse, and Landscape Association holds a convention in the Fargo area. The association is a professional trade organization that has dedicated time and resources to advancing the horticultural industry across the state of North Dakota. The convention consists of educational and informational sessions, networking & tour opportunities, legislation updates, design contests, and resources to assist with specific businesses and aid in marketing products.
