Paramedic Program Deadline Fast Approaching

Careers in emergency medicine are growing in popularity and demand. The Paramedic Technology program through Dakota College at Bottineau in collaboration with Trinity-First Response Ground and Trinity Health is now accepting applications for a 14-month program.

The Paramedic Technology program is for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) who want to advance the level of care they can provide. To apply, you must be a nationally certified emergency medical technician (EMT) and hold a current AHA BLS CPR certificate prior to the start of the course. There is an interview process on April 7th for anyone who submits a completed application.

As a four-semester program, it runs from the beginning of June through July of the following year - summer semester to summer semester. A two-day orientation is held in the middle of May, with classes officially beginning June 5, 2023. Lecture is held Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and may be attended in person or remotely. The program is delivered through a combination of Interactive Video Network (IVN) and on-site methods. Certified instructors and trained preceptors teach the didactic, hands-on lab, and clinical components on-site. Labs are held Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and must be attended in person. Clinicals are completed in specific number of hours, skills, and patient contacts. This combination of delivery methods provides a quality education that is flexible and accessible.

For additional information about admission to the program, details can be found on the Dakota College at Bottineau website. The deadline for applications is April 1, 2023.
