Dakota College Announces 2023 Commencement

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is excited to recognize students at the 2023 commencement ceremony. The ceremony will be held in the gym located in Thatcher Hall and will recognize 86 of the 179 graduating students on Friday, May 12th at 3:00 pm. The commencement event will also be streamed.

Dakota College Recognizes Excellence

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) held its annual employee recognition luncheon this week. Excellence awards, which are determined by students and peers, were presented to faculty and staff. The Employee Excellence awards are intended to recognize and reward employee efforts whose job performance adds value to the college experience for students, colleagues, and the campus community. Recipients demonstrate qualities that make it clear their contributions are exemplary and go beyond what is required for the routine discharge of their duties. Hattie Albertson, English Instructor, Leslie Ostreim, Photography Studio Manager and Danielle Clemenson, Academic Administrative Assistant are the 2023 recipients.

Natural Resource Institute Part IV: Earth’s Land & Soil Resources

The Natural Resource Institute Part IV “Earth’s Land & Soil Resources” is accepting registrations for summer 2023. Space is limited. The institute will be held on Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) campus June 7-8, 2023. This is the fourth in a series of professional development classes for both formal and informal educators. Educators from throughout North Dakota are invited to attend the institute which has proven to provide an excellent mix of professionals an opportunity to gain experience from one another according to Angie Bartholomay, Professor of Science at Dakota College, and coordinator of the workshop.

Student Lecture in Support of DCB’s Annual Book Read

For the Annual Campus Read program, Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is excited to announce the April guest speaker. A sophomore enrolled in the horticulture program at DCB, Jess McInnes-Gee, from Minnedosa, MB, will spark in-depth discussion and introspective reflection by sharing different perspectives on approaching the challenges of hunger globally, nationally, but most importantly, in our local communities and homes.

Cyber Bootcamp Offered at DCB

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is one of the six locations across the state hosting a two-day IT/Cyber bootcamp. The Dakota Digital Academy (DDA) and the Northern Information Technology Consortium (NITC) are teaming up to deliver the bootcamp at six locations across the state on June 6-7, 2023. The bootcamp aims to help K-12 teachers who have little digital technologies experience to be exposed to the fun and creative aspects of digital technologies. Attendees can return to their classroom with a technology toolbox to engage their students as well as earn graduate credit upon completion of the course.

DCB Foundation Announces Day of Giving

On April 25, 2023, Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) will host its first annual Jacks Give Back - Day of Giving online fundraising event. The new Day of Giving features six campaigns that include support to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society, Foundation Endowment Scholarships, alumni returning student scholarships, athletic scholarships, a student emergency fund, and a special campaign to buy the Jacks athlete teams a new-to-them 56-passenger bus.

DCB ND Farm Management Education Shares 2022 Averages

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) enrolls farmers and ranchers throughout the north central and western part of North Dakota to work one-on-one with their North Dakota Farm Management Education (NDFME) instructors. Enrollees do not sit in a traditional classroom setting. Since no two farm and ranch operations are the same, working one-on-one allows direction on a per-case basis. DCB – NDFME Instructors work with enrollees’ personal financial information to help understand and improve effectiveness in four main areas: Business & Family Goal Setting, Farm & Ranch Business Records, Financial Analysis, and Planning.

DCB to Host Science Olympiad

The Northeast Regional Science Olympiad will be held at Dakota College at Bottineau campus on March 30, 2023. Area schools create teams to compete for the chance to qualify for the North Dakota State Science Olympiad competition.
