Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) held its annual employee recognition luncheon this week. Excellence awards, which are determined by students and peers, were presented to faculty and staff.

The Employee Excellence awards are intended to recognize and reward employee efforts whose job performance adds value to the college experience for students, colleagues, and the campus community. Recipients demonstrate qualities that make it clear their contributions are exemplary and go beyond what is required for the routine discharge of their duties. Hattie Albertson, English Instructor, Leslie Ostreim, Photography Studio Manager and Danielle Clemenson, Academic Administrative Assistant are the 2023 recipients.

Hattie Albertson has been employed at DCB for 11 years. She started as the Librarian and last fall transferred to teaching full time in the education program. Nominated by two students, Hattie embraces the value, support, and passion for teaching. Students recognize that she is always willing to explain or adapt assignments based on what they need. Considerate, thorough, patient, and open minded are words that describe Hattie’s style. She allows the students to enjoy their class while achieving their goals and creating quality work.

Leslie Ostreim, Photography Studio Manager is a 2016 alum of DCB. Passionate about photography, she shines in the classroom and connects with the students. She takes the time each one needs to be successful. You will see Leslie at all the home games, campus events and in turn spending endless hours in the studio. She has a “get it done” personality and is a team player. Leslie takes pride in her work, and it shows.

Danielle Clemenson will soon be celebrating a decade at DCB. She is the Academic Administrative Assistant, and her work is high quality, efficient and timely. Faculty and students rely on her for accurate and fair amounts of information. She is always pleasant to work with and willing to see any project to the end.

In addition to the Excellence Award recognition, Dakota College honored Keith Knudson, 2022 retiree.
