Dakota College Receives NIFA Investment

Dakota College at Bottineau is one of 12 recipients of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) investment of $4.8 million to support workforce training by community colleges. These awards are made possible through the Agricultural and Food Research Initiative’s (AFRI) Agricultural Workforce Training program priority area. This is the first time that the NIFA has specifically targeted community colleges to increase training opportunities for the food and agricultural workforce sector.

The cannabis industry is expected to have a total economic output of $40 billion and support 414,000 jobs across the country by 2021 according to a joint report by Arcview Market Research and BDS Analytics. Dakota College received award notification from Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring.

New “LEAP Beyond” Program for High School Students

Dakota College at Bottineau is proud to announce the addition of the LEAP (Leading to Education and Advanced Preparation) Beyond program to their fall curriculum. Designed for high schools, the new LEAP Beyond program allows high school students to earn an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science (liberal arts) alongside their high school diploma, saving students time and money.

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is proud to announce the LEAP (Leading to Education and Advanced Preparation) program graduates. Designed for high schools, LEAP allows high school students to earn a Certificate of College Studies alongside their high school diploma. This spring Dakota College graduates 17 students from five high schools in North Dakota; Bottineau, Minot, Midkota, Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood, and Rolla.

Dakota College at Bottineau is excited to recognize students at a special virtual graduation ceremony. Faculty and staff are very proud of their Dakota College students and want to provide them with a proper recognition. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and staying in sync with social distancing, Dakota College is excited to recognize 212 students with a virtual ceremony celebration.
