The Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture (ECH) at Dakota College at Bottineau is hosting a Horticulture Field Day on September 24, 2021 in partnership with the US Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

Dakota College at Bottineau announces its annual Campus Read. This year the title chosen is written by James Barilla, My Backyard Jungle - The adventures of an Urban Wildlife Lover Who Turned His Yard into Habitat and Learned to live with it. As has been the practice with previous book reads, students enrolled in first-year composition courses discuss the book and work writing assignments linked to the reading assignments.
Dakota College at Bottineau is excited to announce Clay Target as a new varsity sport starting this fall. Student athletes will be competing in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) competing against 13 other teams. Teams are made up from schools in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota.
Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) hosted a field day with Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian students (TMBCI). This field day was guided by Keith Knudson, Specialty Crops Instructor. Keith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Extension and Agricultural Education, which he received from North Dakota State University. His experience in farming includes crops, forage, livestock and aquaponics production.
Dakota College at Bottineau is excited to announce its first graduating class of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS), also as known as ultrasound, program. The following four students completed the final semester of this five-semester program this summer 2021 (listed left to right from photo attached): Gabrielle Bohl, Tara Hancock both from Minot, Mayce Brodehl from Newburg and Gregory Davis from Darien, GA.
Dakota College welcomes a couple of new faces to the Bottineau campus this summer as two retirements left the Physical Plant Director and Bookstore Manager positions vacant.
Dakota College at Bottineau held their eighteenth annual rummage this week. Dakota College employees hold this event each year to support local community charities and service groups. The 2020 event was not held due to COVID precautions.
The Dakota Nursing program at Dakota College at Bottineau pinned Practical Nurse graduates from the Bottineau (5), Valley City (8) and Minot (22) programs last week. Dakota College at Bottineau’s practicum is a member of the Dakota Nursing Program, a consortium of community college nursing departments which work together to offer a common curriculum for a Practical Nursing Certificate and an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing.
Dakota College at Bottineau was awarded $19,495 from the ND Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring in order to establish a community orchard on the Dakota College campus.
In order to get this community orchard up and running properly, Dakota College has been working with Cody Clemenson, ND Forest Service’s Forest Stewardship Specialist, and Farm Manager Apryl Mawby. This orchard will provide the campus, community members and Dakota College students fruit, peace and tranquility while also providing education on the tree and shrub species.
