New Student Club Formed at DCB
Date Published: 4/29/26

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) approved a new student club, The Grove: Literary & Art Anthology, which will be a club run by students that publishes student-created literature and art. The Grove’s mission is to celebrate student creativity and personal or academic achievements.
As a club, students will be providing a collective place for DCB students to showcase their abilities. The club will take submissions for writing (fiction, non-fiction, academic, etc.) and art (photography, drawing, painting, etc.). Club members will review and format the submissions into one yearly publication.
Literary magazines, or other similar publications, are common within other colleges and universities. This is not something DCB has had in the past. Halle Serhienko has aspirations for the club, “I am hoping it will be something that creates a lasting impression for both those who submit their work for publication and work within the club. My vision for The Grove is that it gives students a tangible memory to hold on to for years to come—something that will forever connect them to DCB and inspire future generations to continue their pursuits within the arts”.
Student members within the club will have the opportunity to review and format writing and art that is submitted for publication. There will also be opportunities for club members to promote the club using marketing strategies. The Grove club is currently looking for returning students who would be interested in becoming members for the upcoming school year. We are also taking submissions that will be published in the very first volume of The Grove: Literary & Art Anthology, coming May 2027.
