Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) offers student leadership opportunities through the LeaderJacks program on the DCB campus. The program is established for student involvement from every program and degree. They focus on developing leadership skills and life experience through community involvement in service to others. There is a new group each semester with 16 students participating this fall.
Recently, the LeaderJacks volunteered in the community by helping clean and prepare flower beds for winter at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. They did a huge amount of work, and the volunteers who usually tackle this job on their own were thrilled to have their help. The LeaderJacks students had a great time getting to know the community through an opportunity to help others. They have future community service opportunities this academic year, such as: Trunk-or-Treat, helping the Minot Rotary Club, helping at the Bottineau Food Pantry, and other campus-related events.
