Dakota College at Bottineau is one of eleven higher educational institutions within the North Dakota University System, and all eleven may offer courses during the 3 weeks between the fall and spring semesters. This 3-week intersession is much like summer school in that any courses offered are held within a very short timeframe.

This year, Dakota College at Bottineau is offering CIS 147 Introduction to Information Security during intersession. The course will be taught remotely and can be used toward a certificate in either Software Development or Cybersecurity.

Introduction to Information Security (CIS 147) provides students with an overview of personal and business information security. Topics covered include various methods of attack and defense. Students will also investigate desktop security, internet security, wireless network security, and enterprise security ethics.  It will also be offered in the spring semester at Dakota College at Bottineau, Minot location, in a flexible format.

For more information about the Information Security intersession course, contact Trisha Nelson, IT Instructor at 701-858-3313 or trisha.nelson@dakotacollege.edu.
