Dakota College at Bottineau Foundation (Foundation) held its Annual Meeting this week, presenting the annual report and financial review, and holding an election of the Foundation Board of Directors and officers. Seth Serhinko was elected as the President and Brent Moum was elected as the Vice President, each for a two-year term.

The Foundation is organized for charitable purposes to support programs and activities for Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB). The Foundation consists of a Board supporting the Logrollers Booster Club and managing the Alumni Association.

The Foundation’s priority is to raise money to award scholarships to new students each year based upon academic achievement. This goal is achieved in a few different ways. The Foundation has endowment funds in which the principal remains intact, and the interest generated is used for scholarships. There are annual events hosted such as Evergreen, Wine Walk, and Annual Drive. The Foundation also has the Berge Scholarship Fund that awards about $80,000 each academic year to Bottineau County residents.

The Alumni Association works hard each year to raise funds for returning students based upon academic achievement. Through Alumni dues and a variety of fundraising events, $10,000 is awarded to second-year students each academic year.

The Logrollers Association's primary purpose is to raise money to award around $60,000 in athletic scholarships each year. Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, and Baseball are the eligible sports on campus that can accept scholarships. The Logrollers organize annual raffles, the Turtle Trot and Wayne Gorder Memorial Golf Tournament, along with a Membership Drive to reach the goal of helping keep the sporting teams playing at a competitive level.
