Date Published: 9/24/25

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) received funding from the Workforce Education Innovation Fund (WEIF) in accordance with N.D.C.C. 15-10-75. This funding opportunity transitioned the Paramedic Technology Program from Trinity Health to Dakota College at Bottineau, supporting regional EMS workforce needs. DCB had collaborated with Trinity Health to offer a Paramedic Technology AAS degree and certificate program through a contractual arrangement based in Minot. This shift ensures long-term sustainability, strengthens EMS workforce training, and maintains Trinity Health as a collaborative partner.

She has worked as a paramedic for 15 years and taught courses for DCB’s Paramedic education program for over 11 years under the auspices of Trinity Health. As a North Dakota native, Mary loves spending time outdoors, gardening, bow hunting, and enjoying quiet moments in nature. Mary is always excited about starting new cohorts each June and enjoys watching students grow throughout the year. She has had over 50 students graduate from the Paramedic Technology program, providing them with an opportunity to get into the work field in less than a year. Applications for the program are due by April 1 of each year. The program accepts up to 10 students annually. Upon successful completion of the program, students are required to complete the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians computer-based testing to become certified as a paramedic. Additional information may be found on the DCB website under programming.

The DCB Paramedic Technology program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of the Education Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions and the Higher Learning Commission.
