The Dakota College at Bottineau Game Club is getting ready to officially take off this semester as students arrive for First Year Experience activities. We currently have a large gaming space with internet access and 11 monitors available for students and community members who want to Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), along with four separate Xbox gaming stations.

DCB received a very generous contribution from American Legion Post #42, which allows them to double the number of Xbox stations available in the Game Club. Michael Leader, Game Club organizer, is very excited about the new year. “I am extremely grateful for their support. This contribution will make a direct difference in how many students can participate at one time and will help make the club more accessible to students who may not have their own gaming equipment to bring with them”.

It is exciting to see the Game Club move from an idea into reality, something students can use. The goal is to create a welcoming place where students can meet people, make friends, compete, relax, and connect through a shared interest in gaming. There are plans in place to involve members of the surrounding community through tournaments, game nights, LAN events, and other activities as the club continues to grow.
