Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) Athletics will be honoring two inductees at an awards recognition banquet on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in a semi-private event at the DCB Campus.

The selection committee for the Lumberjack Athletic Hall of Fame has chosen Dennis Lagasse, Gary Warren, and the 2008 Men’s Hockey Team as 2026 recipients. 

Lagasse has demonstrated countless hours of volunteering for athletic and college events. His commitment to the Logrollers includes more than 20 years of service as president. Through his leadership role and continued support, he has made a lasting impact on the college and its community. 

The 2008 Men’s Hockey Team, coached by Travis Rybchinski, had a remarkable season. The team had a 20-9-2 record and went on to win the 2008 NCAA National Championship. That win marked a back-to-back national championship while having four NJCAA All-American team members.

Gary Warren was the Lumberjack Hockey Coach from 1984-2001. Coaching the Lumberjacks to 3 National Championships, 9 National Runner-ups, and 8 Region XIII Championships. With a legacy defined by championship standards and an enduring impact on the community, he cemented his place among the icons of the game. Warren cannot attend the October presentation. He will be recognized at a home Men’s Lumberjack hockey game. 

Corey Gorder, DCB Campus Dean, is looking forward to recognizing these individuals. “All three are worthy of being a part of our Athletic Hall of Fame,” said Dean Gorder. “The record and place in history of the 2008 Lumberjack team are impressive, as is the number of hours Dennis has given and the impact that Gary has had on so many student-athletes' lives. Thank you all for the impact you have had on DCB.”  The event will be held on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, in the Dakota College at Bottineau Gymnasium (Woodshed) in Bottineau. The social will begin at 5:30 pm, with the meal and program to begin at 6:00 pm.  Complimentary tickets for the event will be provided for each team member and a guest.  Additional tickets are available for $30 each by contacting Kendra in the Foundation office.
