About Michelle

I am originally from Neenah, Wisconsin but moved to Minnesota to complete my bachelor's degree at Winona State University in Education. After graduating in 2007, I spent the next 17 years in the environmental education field, directing outdoor-based summer camp programs, leading field experiences, and developing curriculum. I have developed training courses for environmental education students and was the director of the largest junior geology club in the Midwest before moving out to North Dakota! I have a Master's degree in Environmental Geoscience which I earned from Mississippi State University in 2022 and I completed my capstone thesis on Chronic Wasting Disease in whitetail deer. I studied field research methods at the Gerace Research Institute in San Salvador, Bahamas in 2022 and I am a certified Quality Matters Online Instructor. My passions in life include backcountry hunting, leading and participating in paleontology digs, and spending time adventuring with my husband and daughter. I am thrilled to be a part of the DCB family and cannot wait to explore the natural world with you all!
