Course Requirements: Tests: 11 chapter quizzes worth approximately 30 points each. Lab Assignments: Labs are worth anywhere between 10 - 75 points. Most are worth 10-20 points. Grading is on the 90-80-70-60% grading scale. Tentative Course Outline: Week 1 Chapter 1 -What Is Wrong with My Plant Lab – Research a plant disease of your choice. Week 2 Chapter 2 - Fungi Lab – Research a fungal plant disease of your choice. Week 3 Chapter 3 - Bacteria Lab – Research a bacterial disease of an annual herbaceous plant. Week 4 Chapter 4 - Nematodes Lab – Soybean cyst nematode. Week 5 Chapter 5 - Viruses Lab – Plant viruses. Week 6 Chapter 6 – Parasitic Flowering Plants Lab – Mistletoe. Week 7 Chapter 7 – Abiotic Factors Lab – No Lab Week 8 Chapter 7 – Abiotic Factors Lab – Identify and Control Noninfectious Diseases of Trees Week 9 Chapter 8 – What Types of Plant Diseases Are There?
