PROBATION: Indicates that a student is in danger of being asked to leave the college. Probation can mean “academic probation” (poor academic performance) or “disciplinary probation” (infraction of college rules). REGISTRATION: The process whereby students plan and enroll in their classes for a subsequent semester and pay their tuition and fees. REQUIRED COURSE: A class which students must take in order to graduate in their major area. REVERSE TRANSFER: Reverse transfer is a means by which a student can transfer credits earned at a separate institution to a two –year college in order to receive an associate’s degree or certificate . SOPHOMORE: A student who has met all entrance require- ments and has earned 24 or more credits. TRANSFER PROGRAMS: Curriculums with courses leading to an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree which are designed for students transferring to four-year colleges and universities. TRANSCRIPT: A complete record of enrollment as well as grades and credits earned, for courses taken at Dakota College at Bottineau. The transcript is sent to other schools, agencies, or employers only upon request through parchment. TRANSFER CREDIT: Transfer credit refers to credit earned through the completion of college-level coursework at another college or university that is fully accredited by their regional accrediting association.
