Branching Out Spring 2019

T he USA Sled Hockey team held a two-game series with Canada on the weekend of March 22 – 23, 2019 and two men with ties to Dakota College at Bottineau are a huge part of the team. DCB Alum, David Hoff (’87) is in his first season as head coach of the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team. He was the assistant coach of last year’s gold medal- winning 2018 U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team. Joining Hoff behind the bench as assistant coach is our Lumberjack Hockey assistant coach, Corey Gorder. The Para Ice Hockey World Championship will be held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, in late April. Hoff will coach the 2019 US Sled Hockey Team entering the event seeking their fourth gold medal after claiming the 2009, 2012 and 2015 world championships. It is a great honor for both Hoff and Gorder, as well as for us to cheer them on to victory.
