Assistant Professor of Biology

Teach courses in fisheries and wildlife sciences and related fields (i.e. GPS, GIS, biology and/or botany) to undergraduate students in A.S. and A.A.S. degree programs. Advising students, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, program promotion, distance delivery of coursework, and community service and outreach are inherent to the position.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences or related field. 3 months experience as Graduate Teaching Assistant, Instructor, Professor, or related occupation. In lieu of or in addition to the required Master’s Degree, must have either an earned doctorate or all but dissertation (ABD) in a field of Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences or a related field. Must have experience teaching college-level introductory fisheries and wildlife sciences and/or related courses. The required experience may have been gained prior to the Doctoral degree.

Academic Support Coordinator

Part-time, 9-month appointment

Job Description: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking applicants for the Academic Support Coordinator position. Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Manage the Campus Tutoring Program – Recruit and enroll participants, provide tutoring in areas of expertise, work with faculty to select tutors, train and supervise tutors, and coordinate and track tutoring expenses.
  • Teach a 1-credit Study Skills Class
  • Assist with Office Tasks and Activities – Collect data, prepare reports, help with the community education program and assist with other office tasks, activities and events as assigned.

This is a part-time, non-benefited, 9-month position. This position will be 19.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday from August – May, potentially some summer hours.

Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree; experience working with special populations; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently.

Qualifications Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in special education, social work, or English; experience in counseling and advising.

Associate Degree Nurse Faculty

LOCATION:  Dakota College at Bottineau distance site at Trinity St. Joseph Campus, Minot, ND.

JOB SUMMARY:  Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking an instructor to teach courses in its nursing program to undergraduate students in practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs. Responsible for curriculum including online, selection of course materials, monitoring program progress, supervising part-time nursing instructors, nursing skills assessment, course instruction, course assessment, and clinical supervision.  This position requires organizational skills, technical and professional writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Minimum Requirements:  Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related area, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE which will allow completion of the master's degree program within three years.

SALARY:  Competitive salary based on education and experience.

Resident Assistant Athletic Coach (More than 1 position available)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking applicants for resident assistant coaching positions in its Residence Life and NJCAA/ACHA athletic programs. Responsibilities for this position include demonstrating competency in sport skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions under the direction of the head coach. This position can also entail recruiting duties depending on the candidate’s interest under the direction of the head coach. The candidate must demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes. They will also exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior for goals set by head coach. The successful candidate will also demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with students in all areas on campus.  Also will serve in the residence halls as an adult Resident Assistant, assisting students professionally and personally as well as enforcing DCB residence life rules and regulations.  Sports offered at DCB are men’s and women’s basketball, men’s ice hockey, baseball, softball, and women’s volleyball.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.  Prior experience in residence life (RA) preferred, but not required.

DATE AVAILABLE: August 1, 2018

CLOSING DATE: Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until suitable candidates selected.

SALARY: 10 month contract,stipend position for coaching plus room and board in exchange for residence life responsibilities and duties.  Possible other duties on campus for additional pay.
