Nursing Administrative Assistant

Full-time, 12-month Benefited Position

Job Functions and Responsibilities: The Nursing Administrative Assistant position will provide administrative support to the Director of Nursing. This position assists the Director of Nursing and nursing faculty in a variety of departmental duties such as general clerical work, coordinating work on multiple projects, maintaining confidential files, organizing and disseminating information to faculty, staff and students, and evaluating records of transfer students.

Qualifications Required: 1) Associate’s degree or education and experience equal to an Associate’s degree; 2) extensive knowledge and experience in the use of computer systems and application software including Microsoft Office; 3) strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a detail oriented atmosphere; 4) excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people; and 5) ability to work independently.

Qualifications Preferred: 1) Bachelor's degree and 2) Experience in post-secondary education.

Additional Requirement: Successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal history background investigation prior to employment.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

Applications Accepted from Current Dakota College Employees

The Athletic Director will manage and supervise all aspects of Dakota College at Bottineau’s Athletic Department, including all the college’s inter-collegiate sports, namely Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Football, Hockey, Softball and Volleyball. The Athletic Director performs work that is directly related to the management policies of the institution and the athletic department. The Athletic Director is expected to represent the Athletic Department and all of the college’s inter-collegiate sports across the campus and within the local and regional community. Fund-raising for the department and its sports programs, in cooperation with the DCB Foundation, will be an important component of the position. The Athletic Director must have the ability to develop strong community relations for the college’s athletic programs. The position will be expected to lead the implementation of the Athletic Department’s new strategic plan, which includes the development of potential new sports at the college.

In carrying out assignments, the Athletic Director is expected to exercise discretion and independent judgement, as well as direct the work of others. The Athletic Director helps establish policy and educational goals for the Athletic Department and determines the procedures used to carry out a course of action. The Athletic Director develops programs, motivates staff, answers procedural questions, meets with other administrators and teaching staff, and prepares and monitors the department budget. The person in this position must possess the managerial abilities to make sound decisions, organize work effectively and efficiently, establish good working relationships with other employees, keep attuned to student needs, and seek creative and innovative methods to accomplish a stated mission. The Athletic Director must have strong organizational, time management and recordkeeping skills.

The Athletic Director position is not designated as a full-time position and will be combined with other job responsibilities at the college, which will be dependent on the skills and background of the person hired.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the position. Experience in administration, supervision or program management at the high school or college level. Applicant must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or progress towards a Master’s degree. Coaching experience. Experience in the recruitment of student athletes at the collegiate level. Fund-raising and budgeting knowledge and expertise.

Associate Degree Nurse Faculty

LOCATION:  Dakota College at Bottineau distance site at Trinity St. Joseph Campus, Minot, ND.

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is an 11-month, tenure, benefited position.

Responsible for curriculum including online, selection of course materials, monitoring program progress, supervising part-time nursing instructors, nursing skills assessment, course instruction, course assessment, and clinical supervision.  This position requires organizational skills, technical and professional writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Minimum Requirements:  Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related area, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE which will allow completion of the master's degree program within three years.

SALARY:  Competitive salary based on education and experience.

Resident Assistant Athletic Coach (More than 1 position available)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking applicants for resident assistant coaching positions in its Residence Life and NJCAA/ACHA athletic programs. Responsibilities for this position include demonstrating competency in sport skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions under the direction of the head coach. This position can also entail recruiting duties depending on the candidate’s interest under the direction of the head coach. The candidate must demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes. They will also exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior for goals set by head coach. The successful candidate will also demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with students in all areas on campus.  Also will serve in the residence halls as an adult Resident Assistant, assisting students professionally and personally as well as enforcing DCB residence life rules and regulations.  Sports offered at DCB are football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s ice hockey, baseball, softball, and women’s volleyball.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.  Prior experience in residence life (RA) preferred, but not required.

DATE AVAILABLE: August 1, 2018

CLOSING DATE: Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until suitable candidates selected.

SALARY: 10 month contract,stipend position for coaching plus room and board in exchange for residence life responsibilities and duties.  Possible other duties on campus for additional pay.
