LOCATION:  Dakota College at Bottineau distance site at Trinity St. Joseph Campus, Minot, ND.

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT:  This is an 11-month, tenure, benefited position.

JOB SUMMARY: Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking an instructor to teach courses in its nursing program to undergraduate students in practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs.  Ther person selected for this position will be responsible for the planning, implementation, teaching and evaluation of student learning experiences in the classroom and clinical areas with nursing students enrolled in the Dakota Nursing Program.

Responsible for curriculum including online, selection of course materials, monitoring program progress, supervising part-time nursing instructors, nursing skills assessment, course instruction, course assessment and clinical supervision.  This position requires organization skills, technical and professional writing skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education or related area, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE which will allow completion of the master's degree program within three years.

SALARY:Competitive salary based on education and experience.

Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized IT technician to join our team. In this position, you will play a key role in providing support for all areas of IT. You will update systems, troubleshoot problems, and provide hands-on support for IT issues within our organization.

IT Support Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keep systems up to date through operating systems upgrades
  • Monitor networking equipment and servers
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing support of new software and features
  • Monitor network availability, and security
  • Oversee troubleshooting for system errors
  • Provide helpdesk support for all IT related issues
  • Provide technical support either by phone, remote access or site visits as needed
  • Respond to IT issues, hardware maintenance, software, networking, printing, etc.
  • Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software
  • Modify configurations, utilities, software, etc.
  • Set up equipment for new users
  • Perform data backups
  • Install and update network system improvements as needed
  • Assist with LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair/troubleshooting software, printers, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology, and more

IT Support Technician Requirements and Qualifications

  • Two-year college degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field preferred
  • Previous experience as a help desk technician, computer technician, or IT support
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve multiple issues
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable in a diverse and fast-paced environment

Adjunct English Instructor

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) in Minot, ND, is seeking a part-time, adjunct instructor, to teach four developmental English courses on the Minot State University (MiSU) campus. The DCB courses to be taught are two sections of ASC 87 College Writing Prep and two sections of ASC 88 Composition Lab for a total of eight credits.  These courses are scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, during the Fall Semester 2020.

This position coordinates the events put on by the Foundation, Alumni and Logrollers organizations. This position requires a flexible work schedule that includes occasional evenings and weekends when events are held.

Reports to:   Department Chair/Nursing Program Director/Site Manager

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Administrative Assistant will provide support for the Nursing Department.  The ideal candidate will be able to handle a variety of tasks such as routine administrative assistant duties, handle confidential information, and prepare reports and adhere to deadlines.  This individual must be a self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.   Proofing, technological and computer skills and interpersonal skills are vital to the operation of the department.

 Essential Duties:

  • Screen incoming calls, mail, personal visit inquiries and other relevant matters.
  • Provide high level of quality customer service; maintain confidentiality and use tact and discretion when dealing with students, the public, and all faculty and staff.
  • Independently answer routine matters and refer others to appropriate persons.
  • Compose letters and reports from brief instructions or notes or on own initiative.

  • Knowledge of grammatical composition; proofreading, determine most appropriate layouts, formats, arrangements and other related details.

  • Supply organization and reordering
  • Keep mannequins updated and charged
  • Assist other departments as directed; act as receptionist and greet and escort visitors.
  • Prepare business documents for payments of invoices and purchase card reports.
  • Maintain appropriate records as requested for students and department.  Keep files current and up-to-date.
  • Prepare agendas, attend meetings, take and transcribe minutes and assure proper distribution of minutes as requested.
  • Assist in orientation and directing work activities of department work study/student assistants.
  • Schedule appointments and arrange meetings as requested.
  • Assists departments in organizing, recording, and tracking student work.
  • Proctors student exams as requested (ATI, makeup, etc.).
  • Support and maintain department policies 
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree-preferred but not essential
  • Two or more years of experience as an administrative assistant
  • Communicate with the general public in a courteous, helpful and clearly understood manner
