Farm/Ranch Business Management Instructor – Northwest ND

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include assisting students, who are actively engaged in farming/ranching, in developing sound farm financial and production records, creating cash flow projections and completing a farm/ranch business analysis.  Responsibilities also include teaching and enrolling students.  Instruction of students is primarily done on a one-to-one basis.  Student advisement, commitment to a collegial working environment, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, and community service and outreach are inherent to the position.  The office for this position will be in Stanley, ND.

QUALIFICATIONS Required: Bachelor’s degree in the field of agriculture or related field or a Bachelor’s degree and other appropriate work experience.  Must be willing to be trained in using FINPACK software. QUALIFICATIONS Preferred: 

  • Experience teaching farm management
  • Experience in agriculture finance such as agricultural loan officer
  • Three or more years of agriculture/agribusiness experience
  • Proficiency with FINPACK, Excel and one or more farm accounting software programs
  • Appropriate master’s degree
  • Documented successful teaching experience

Compensation:  10 to 11 month (negotiable), full-time, benefited position.  Salary based on experience and education.  Retirement plan and full coverage for family health insurance.

POSITION: Adjunct Nursing Instructor (Limited Part-time/Laboratory and Clinical)

LOCATION:Dakota College at Bottineau distance sites in Bottineau, Minot and Valley City.

TYPE OF APPONTMENT: This is a limited part-time/PRN position during fall, spring and summer terms.

JOB SUMMARY:  Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking limited part-time/PRN instructors to assist with clinical courses to undergraduate students in the practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs. The persons selected for the position will be responsible for planning, implementation, teaching, and evaluating of student learning in the laboratory and clinical setting. This person will also be responsible for nursing skills assessment, course instruction, course assessment, and clinical supervision.  This position requires strong organizational skills, technical and professional writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Minimum Requirements:  A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required to teach lab and clinical courses in the Practical Nursing program. A Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related area, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE which will allow completion of the master's degree program within three years is required to teach lab and clinical courses in the Associate Degree Nurse program.

SALARY/BENEFITS:  Competitive salary based on education and experience.

Position Vacancy - Grants Writer and Grants Management

This position will report to the Campus Dean and will be responsible for identifying, researching, and writing external grant proposals to secure government and private funding to support DCB's mission, priorities and goals.  A portion of the duties assigned to this positioin will focus on advancing DCB's Entrepreneurial Center for Horticulture (ECH). Appropriate bachelor's degree is required; grant writing experience; strategic thinking and planning skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong written, oral and listening skills, ability to organize and meet deadlines; excellent interpersonal skills; proficiency in computer software and keyboarding.  Qualifications preferred are three years successful grant writing experience; master's degree or evidence of intention to earn a master's degree in three years.

The position is based on the Bottineau campus and requires a physical presence in order to interact with coworkers and students.  A limited amount of remote work may be approved upon consultation with college administration.

Compensation:  12 month, full-time, benefited position.  Salary based on experience and education. Retirement plan and full coverage for family health insurance.
