Farm/Ranch Business Management Instructor – Williston Area

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include assisting students, who are actively engaged in farming/ranching, in developing sound farm financial and production records, creating cash flow projections and completing a farm/ranch business analysis.  Responsibilities also include teaching and enrolling students.  Instruction of students is primarily done on a one-to-one basis.  Student advisement, commitment to a collegial working environment, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, and community service and outreach are inherent to the position.  The office for this position is anticipated to be in Williston, ND.

 

QUALIFICATIONS Required: Bachelor’s degree in the field of agriculture or related field or a Bachelor’s degree and other appropriate work experience.  Must be willing to be trained in using FINPACK software. QUALIFICATIONS Preferred: 

·         Experience teaching farm management

·         Experience in agriculture finance such as agricultural loan officer

·         Three or more years of agriculture/agribusiness experience

·         Proficiency with FINPACK, Excel and one or more farm accounting software programs

·         Appropriate master’s degree

·         Documented successful teaching experience

 

Compensation:  10 to 11 month (negotiable), full-time, benefited position.  Salary based on experience and education.  Retirement plan and full coverage for family health insurance.

 

STARTING DATE: Negotiable, but ideally by January 15, 2021.

Position Information:

The indiviudal in this position will advise, instruct, and assist specialty crop producers and their families engaged in or wishing to be engaged in agriculture including crop production, value added processes, or home processing activities. The position is also responsible for faculty duties within the Agriculture/Horticulture Department.  Demonstrate procedures and apply research findings to solve problems; instruct and train in product production, harvest, development, sales, and the utilization of facilities and equipment to promote general welfare.  Every day, this position will be expected to be able to articulate ideas and problems and listen to and understand others in meetings and in the classroom.  Instruction includes areas of greenhouse technology, aquaponics and hemp (cannabis) production and processing.

Dakota College at Bottineau Registrar

Full-time, 12 month Benefited Position

Job Description:   The Registrar has responsibilities for operational matters related to academic records maintenance and registration activities.  Specifically, this position works with the college’s student information system (PeopleSoft/Oracle Campus Solutions) to input and manage student records.  The Registrar will report to the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs and will direct/assist in coordinating registrar/registration functions, imaging system implementation and graduation as part of their duties.  There are also significant customer service components in this position.  There are several duties that are the sole responsibility of this employee.  Some of these duties include, but are not limited to: 

1.             Reviewing student educational records to assure compliance with North Dakota University System (NDUS) and institutional policies and informing students when records do not comply.

2.             Maintaining and insuring accuracy and security of student records as well as the regulations of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

3.             Interpreting institutional and NDUS academic and student affairs policies.

4.             Maintaining and processing enrollments/withdrawals using PeopleSoft.

5.             Coordinating the submission of enrollment and degree data to the National Student Clearinghouse.

6.             Producing, editing and proofreading camera-ready copy, catalogs, or handbooks as needed.

7.             Evaluating and entering transfer credits into campus connection.

8.             Maintaining curriculum updates in PeopleSoft.

9.             Processing and sending transcripts per student requests.

10.          Managing and maintaining the collaborative student files.  Processing all collaborative students including registration, drop/adds, withdrawals etc.

11.          Serving as the campus military liaison providing information for students and prospective students interested in educational benefits based on military service or status.

12.          Records Retention Management.

13.          Processing open records request and enrollment verifications.

Required Qualifications:  1) Bachelor’s degree; 2) extensive knowledge and experience in the use of computer systems and application software including Microsoft Office; 3) strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a detail-oriented atmosphere; 4) excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and 5) the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people; and 6) ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:  1) Master’s degree, 2) experience in post-secondary student services, student records, and/or admissions, and 3) supervisory experience.

Additional Requirement: Successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal history background investigation prior to employment.

Salary:  Commensurate with education and experience

Date successful applicant begins employment:  March 1, 2021 or sooner if possible
