English Instructor

Full-time, 9-month, tenure track appointment

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking an instructor to teach courses in developmental and college-level composition and other arts/humanities disciplines (i.e., literature, humanities, music, and/or art) to undergraduate students in associate degree programs.  This position includes advising students, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, program promotion, distance delivery of coursework, and community service and outreach.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Master’s degree in English or rhetoric and composition.  Successful teaching experience at the secondary or college level or equivalent professional experience.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Doctorate degree in English or rhetoric and composition. Successful teaching experience with introductory, college-level English and arts/humanities courses.   

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal history background investigation prior to employment.

SALARY: Open, depending on academic preparation and experience.

Agriculture/Horticulture Instructor

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking an instructor to teach courses in agriculture, horticulture, and related fields (i.e., botany, turf grass management, and/or plant science) to undergraduate students in associate degree programs. Advising students, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, program promotion, distance delivery of coursework, and community service and outreach are inherent to the position. Take a leadership role in special projects involving the program such as pursuing grants, grant activities, and working with potential donors.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a field of agriculture, horticulture, or related field. Successful teaching experience at the secondary or college level or equivalent professional experience.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Master’s degree in a field of agriculture, horticulture, or related field and experience teaching college-level introductory horticulture agriculture, and/or related courses. Experience with greenhouse management/operations and grant management.

Associate Degree Nurse Faculty

LOCATION:  Dakota College at Bottineau distance site at Trinity St. Joseph Campus, Minot, ND.

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is an 11-month, tenure, benefited position.

Minimum Requirements:  Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related area, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program with an education plan approved by the CNE which will allow completion of the master's degree program within three years.

SALARY:  Competitive salary based on education and experience.

Resident Assistant Athletic Coach (More than 1 position available)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking applicants for resident assistant coaching positions in its Residence Life and NJCAA/ACHA athletic programs. Responsibilities for this position include demonstrating competency in sport skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions under the direction of the head coach. This position can also entail recruiting duties depending on the candidate’s interest under the direction of the head coach. The candidate must demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes. They will also exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior for goals set by head coach. The successful candidate will also demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with students in all areas on campus.  Also will serve in the residence halls as an adult Resident Assistant, assisting students professionally and personally as well as enforcing DCB residence life rules and regulations.  Sports offered at DCB are football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s ice hockey, baseball, softball, and women’s volleyball.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.  Prior experience in residence life (RA) preferred, but not required.

DATE AVAILABLE: August 1, 2018

SALARY: 10 month contract,stipend position for coaching plus room and board in exchange for residence life responsibilities and duties.  Possible other duties on campus for additional pay.
