113 Aquaponics Production and Management (AAS) Aquaponics is the combination of aquaculture, the production of marine and freshwater aquatic plantsand animals, and hydroponics, the science of growing plantsin water or a mediaother than soil. The Aquaponics Production and Management program prepares students for career opportunities in aquaponics, hydroponics, aquaculture and green- house production. The program will provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to build, operate andmanage an aquaponics system. Students completing the Certificate program will be prepared for job opportunities in an aquaponics operation and other related fields.Graduates ofthe AASprogram areencouraged to starttheir own business or continue their education in a four-year business program.
