Resident Assistant Athletic Coach (More than 1 position available)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking applicants for resident assistant coaching positions in its Residence Life and NJCAA/ACHA athletic programs. Responsibilities for this position include demonstrating competency in sport skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions under the direction of the head coach. This position can also entail recruiting duties depending on the candidate’s interest under the direction of the head coach. The candidate must demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes. They will also exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior for goals set by head coach. The successful candidate will also demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with students in all areas on campus.  Also will serve in the residence halls as an adult Resident Assistant, assisting students professionally and personally as well as enforcing DCB residence life rules and regulations.  Sports offered at DCB are football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s ice hockey, baseball, softball, and women’s volleyball.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.  Prior experience in residence life (RA) preferred, but not required.

SALARY: 10 month contract,stipend position for coaching plus room and board in exchange for residence life responsibilities and duties.  Possible other duties on campus for additional pay.

Biology/Botany Instructor

Full-time, 9 month, tenure track appointment

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking an instructor to teach courses in biology, botany and related fields (i.e., animal and/or range science) to undergraduate students in associate degree programs.  Advising students, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, program promotion, distance delivery of coursework, and community service and outreach are inherent to the position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Master’s degree in a field of biology, botany, or related field.  Successful teaching experience at the secondary or college level or equivalent professional experience. 

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Doctorate degree in a field of biology, botany or related field and experience teaching college-level introductory biology, botany and/or related courses.   

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal history background investigation prior to employment.

SALARY: Open, depending on academic preparation and experience.

Part-Time or Full-Time Nursing Instructor (Valley City, ND)

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is seeking an instructor to teach courses in its nursing program to undergraduate students in practical nursing and associate degree nursing programs. The person selected for this position will be responsible for the planning, implementation, teaching, and evaluation of student learning experiences in the classroom and clinical areas with nursing students enrolled in the Dakota Nursing Program. Additional responsible include:  curriculum development (including online courses), selection of course materials, monitoring program progress, supervising part-time nursing instructors, nursing skills assessment, course instruction, course assessment, and clinical supervision.  Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, current North Dakota RN license, and maintains continuing education as required by the ND State Board of Nursing

Director of Financial Aid

Full-time, 12 month Benefited Position

Job Description: This position involves a full range of financial aid duties including: administration of federal and state financial aid programs, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations to ensure that financial aid funds are distributed fairly and equitably, monitoring of financial aid budgets and accounts, preparing accounts for fiscal reporting, and meeting all other regulatory reporting and application requirements. Duties also include providing assistance to students and parents regarding financial aid, supervising staff and students, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required: 1) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or comparable field; 2) one year experience in post-secondary financial aid or comparable area; 3) strong organizational and interpersonal skills; 4) extensive knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Professional; 5) ability to multi-task in the face of competing demands; and 6) valid driver’s license.

Qualifications Preferred: 1) Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or comparable field; 2) one year supervisory experience; and 3) experience with PeopleSoft/Campus Connection.

Custodian Supervisor/Maintenance Worker - Physical Plant

12 Month, Full-Time Benefited Position

Job Description:  Supervise custodial staff and cleaning of campus buildings, order and maintain inventory of custodial supplies and equipment, assist with building cleaning, assist in operation and maintenance of college’s central heating plant and auxiliary heating systems, assist in maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment, provide training to custodial staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Knowledge of the materials, equipment and methods used in the cleaning and upkeep of buildings; knowledge of (or the ability to learn) operation and maintenance of how-pressure steam boilers and heating systems; knowledge of basic repair and maintenance of buildings and equipment; ability to perform the physical labor necessary for position duties; high school diploma or equivalent; and enthusiasm and willingness to perform all facets of the position as described above.

Head Volleyball/Softball Coach and Sports Information Director

Full-time, 10 month benefited position

JOB DESCRIPTION: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking applicants for a Head Volleyball/Softball Coach and Sports Information Director (SID).  Volleyball competes at the NJCAA Division II level while Softball plays as a NJCAA Division III (non-athletic scholarship) member at DCB.  Both programs are members of the Mon-Dak Conference.  Responsibilities for this position include demonstrating competency in sport skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions, and extensive recruiting duties for both sports.  The candidate must demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic and athletic progress of student-athletes. They will also exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior for goals set by head coach. The successful candidate will also demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes.  As the SID at DCB, the candidate is expected to attend all athletic contests, keep game statistics, upload statistics to Presto website, and write press releases for all sports including game previews, recaps, human interest stories, important events, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.  Ability to perform SID duties for a small, two-year college.

Part-time Custodian

Up to 19 Hours per week

Job Description: Performing custodial work required for the routine cleaning and upkeep of campus buildings. Included moving furniture and equipment, collecting and performing other related custodial duties such as scrubbing, mopping and sweeping floors; cleaning, renovating and renewing floor surface finishes; cleaning windows, walls, woodwork and washrooms; cleaning and dusting furnishings; shoveling snow.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Elementary knowledge of the materials, equipment and methods used in the cleaning and upkeep of buildings, ability to perform cleaning work; knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school; ability to follow written and verbal instructions and to work independently after instructions; ability to perform physical labor necessary to perform the duties of the position; and enthusiasm and willingness to perform all facets of custodial services as described above.

Salary:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
