Job Description: Responsible for operating and maintaining boiler plant and auxiliary equipment, and for providing general plumbing services.

 

Qualifications Required: High school diploma or GED and one year of experience in boiler operation and equipment; working knowledge of plumbing principles, practices and techniques. Oral and written communication skills are required.


Qualifications Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in boiler operation

Administrative Assistant
 

Job Description: The person hired for this full-time, 12-month position will be responsible for assisting the Campus Dean in carrying out the duties and responsibilities required for the successful management of the college. The Administrative Assistant will work with the Dean’s internal and external colleagues and constituencies to create an optimal learning and living environment. Duties include the following: prepare reports, newsletters, pamphlets, posters and brochures; coordinate a variety of State and Federal reports; compose correspondence; arrange travel; manage the Dean’s schedule and electronic calendar; manage office records; take minutes and schedule meetings.

 

Qualifications Required: Associate’s degree, high level computer skills that include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and Outlook) and the Internet, excellent communication and writing skills, ability to manage tasks with minimal direction, high degree of confidentiality and self-motivation, multi-tasking abilities, and a commitment to a collegial working environment.


Qualifications Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or three years’ experience working as an Administrative Assistant with significant management responsibilities.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

COACHING/TEACHING
Full-time, 9-month appointment
 

Job Description: This individual must recruit and coach athletes for the college men’s basketball and women’s volleyball teams. Some fund raising responsibility is also included. The person hired for the position will teach 5-6 credits per semester in the HPER department. Curriculum development and outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, and community service and outreach activities are inherent to the position.

 

Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field. Evidence of successful and relevant college or high school teaching/coaching experience. Successful experience in organizing athletic activities. Commitment to a collegial working environment.


Qualifications Preferred: Master’s degree in an appropriate field or evidence of intention to complete a Master’s degree.

Salary: Open, depending on education and experience.

ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR/ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH
Full-time, 9-month appointment
 

Job Description: Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, this individual will assist with the following activities: determine and track eligibility for athletic participation; monitor and facilitate athletes’ compliance with campus and athletic department codes of conduct; coordinate updates to the DCB website’s athletic pages; promote DCB athletics, game schedules, and game time environment; maintain the student-athlete handbook; game management; travel management; and sports information.

Under the supervision of the Head Football Coach, the Assistant Coach will direct either the offensive or defensive. This individual will also monitor and facilitate the football team’s academic progress and persistence toward a degree. These duties will include, but will not be limited to the following: track attendance and satisfactory academic progress, coordinate study sessions, counsel athletes receiving midterm deficiencies, encourage retention and matriculation from first year to second year at DCB.

 

Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree, evidence of successful coaching experience, and organizational abilities. Commitment to a collegial working environment.


Qualifications Preferred: Master’s degree, coaching experience, and leadership competencies.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Admissions Counselor/Recruiter
Full-time, 12-month appointment
 

Responsibilities: This position involves enrollment management activities that support the marketing and recruiting of prospective students and the academic counseling, advising and retention of enrolled students. Periods of travel are an integral component of this position. Responsibilities also include the management of databases and student information systems such as PeopleSoft and Hobsons.

Specific tasks related to recruitment activities are:

  • Represent the college at selected college fairs, selected high schools and other events.
  • Serve as the contact person between prospective students and the College
  • Assist in the development and design of recruitment materials.
  • Assist with the Student Ambassador program.
  • Organize, conduct, and manage recruiting events.
  • Maintain prospect databases in Hobsons CRM.



Specific tasks related to admission activities are:

  • Track changes in programs, curriculums and coursework.
  • Provide assistance in admitting prospective students.
  • Assist students interested in transferring.
  • Assist students in regards to their enrollment status and application file.
  • Provide academic advising and registration for new and enrolled students.
  • Organize and conduct orientation session.
  • Organize and conduct new student registration sessions.
  • Administer placement exams and maintain placement database.

Specific tasks related to academic advising and retention are:
  • Track changes in programs, curriculums and coursework.
  • Maintain in PeopleSoft/Campus Connection the academic advisement/degree audit program.
  • Maintain and update degree planning guides.


Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Possess a valid driver’s license and obtain documents required to travel to Canada. Proficiency with Microsoft environments and desktop publishing programs. Must be able to load and transport displays and other equipment up to 40 pounds.


Qualifications Preferred: Academic degree in marketing, communications, or education. Experience directly related to college recruitment and promotion. Experience in the student affairs area at the secondary or post-secondary level. Marketing and/or promotional experience. Experience with InDesign, Photoshop and other Adobe products.

Salary: $27,000 - $29,000 depending on experience.

Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences Instructor

Job Description: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking an instructor to teach courses in fisheries and wildlife sciences and related fields (i.e., GPS, GIS, biology and/or botany) to undergraduate students in A.S., A.A., and A.A.S. degree programs. Advising students, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, institutional committee work, distance delivery of coursework, and community service and outreach are inherent to the position.

Qualifications Required: Master's degree in a field of fisheries and wildlife sciences. Successful teaching experience at the secondary or college level.

Administrative Assistant
Full-time, 12-Month Benefited Position
 

Job Description: The Administrative Assistant position will provide secretarial and administrative support to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Dean for Student Affairs. This position assists the Associate Deans in a variety of departmental activities. Specific duties include: general clerical work, coordinating work on multiple projects, maintaining confidential files, organizing and disseminating information to faculty and staff, evaluating records of transfer students, and assisting in institutional research.

Qualifications Required: 1) Associate’s degree or education and experience equal to an Associate’s degree; 2) extensive knowledge and experience in the use of computer systems and application software including Microsoft Office Professional; 3) strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a detail oriented atmosphere; 4) excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people; and 5) ability to work independently.

Qualifications Preferred: 1) Bachelor's degree and 2) Experience in post-secondary education.

Paraeducation Program Manager
Full-time, 10.5-month appointment
 

Job Description: Manage the Paraeducation Program. Align curriculum with national and state standards, expand distance delivery of program across the state, spearhead efforts to generate transfer agreements with other campuses, provide guidance and training for adjunct instructors, and arrange and monitor student work experiences, and build a sustainable program by increasing student enrollment.  Instruct courses and advise students. Advise program majors and track completion and employment, align coursework with program goals, teach classes, evaluate student work, participate in outcomes assessment, and update and improve instructional materials. Promote the program through multiple avenues. Develop and nurture networking alliances, utilize diverse tools for marketing the program, join education organizations, and present and exhibit at conferences. Carry out the objectives of the APPLE paraeducation improvement Grant, Learning Center and campus. Adhere to grant requirements and timelines, participate in program assessment and improvement activities, and contribute to committee work and outreach activities.

Qualifications Required: Master’s degree in Special Education. Teaching experience in K-12 setting. Work with children with disabilities. Supervision of paraprofessionals. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Project management experience. Moderate or better computer skills.

The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check prior to employment.

Qualifications Preferred: Management of a department budget. Experience with computerized record management. Grant writing experience.

Salary: $29,300-32,234; full benefit package including family health insurance coverage.
