New, incoming DCB students will register for classes with the help of their advisor or DCB Admissions support staff. Below lists the steps a new student must take in order to be eligible to register for their classes
Step 1: Apply for admission to DCB
Students must apply for admission, pay the $35 application fee and turn in their official high school transcripts or college transcripts to gain full admission to the college and to be eligible to register for classes.
Step 2: Turn in required admission paperwork
Send in your appropriate paperwork such as ACT results, Official High School Transcripts or GED results, Official College Transcripts, Immunization records, and Background Check (if required for your degree).
Step 3: Activate your NDUS user account
DCB students will register for classes through their NDUS Campus Connection student portal. It is important that students claim their NDUS user account before their appointment to register.
To start this process, students must have their NDUS Student EMPL ID number (found in their acceptance letter or by clicking here) and date of birth readily available. Go to the claim page link, http://claim.ndus.edu and follow the online instructions to claim/activate the account.
By claiming the account, students are creating a personal password and entering hints for future password resets while using the Campus Connection software. Please keep this information in a safe place. For help at any time, please refer to the Campus Connection Help Guide located under the Registration Tools section below.
Step 4: Take the ACT exam and submit your ACT test results
In compliance with NDUS Procedure 402.1.2, Dakota College at Bottineau uses student's ACT scores for placement in English and math courses. Students who are younger than 25 years old must have ACT scores on file with DCB before they will be allowed to register for classes.
If a student has not taken the ACT, they must contact DCB Student Services immediately to schedule an English/math placement test and must also register to take the ACT test. Students can register for an ACT test in town near them by visiting ACTstudent.org.
Step 5: Schedule an appointment to register for your classes
New students coming to the DCB Bottineau campus will make appointments to register for classes. This can be accomplished by doing one of the following options:
1. Register to attend one of New Student Registration sessions offered in June and July for incoming, fall semester students. Dates are Monday, June 10; Friday, June 21; and Monday, July 15. Click here to register now.
2. Schedule an in-person or phone registration appointment by calling DCB Student Services at (701) 228-5494.
Online students will register for classes by contacting their program advisor (indicated on your acceptance letter) or by calling the DCB Distance Education Office at (888) 918-5623.
MSU-campus and VCSU-campus students will register for classes usually during VCSU/MSU summer orientation. For more information, contact your advisor (as indicated on your acceptance letter).
