Coop 297 - Cooperative Education
1-6 Semester Hour Credits

Course Description: Students combine course learning with practical, professional work experiences in their chosen field of study. The employer does an evaluation of the work experience; the faculty advisor and cooperative education coordinator supervise the students; the students are required to complete a project assigned by the faculty advisor. A minimum of 90 hours of work is required to earn one credit. A grade of pass/fail is given by the faculty advisor. The prefix for this course will be determined by the program of study.

Course Objectives: To facilitate hands-on learning through real world work experience in a job related to the student's chosen field of study.

Work Expectations:

  • Students must work a minimum of 90 hours in an approved work environment to earn one credit

  • Students must complete enrollment and evaluation forms for the Cooperative Education Coordinator

  • Students must submit any projects assigned by their advisor

  • Students receive a pass/fail grade as determined by the program advisor
