Retention/Advising Facilitator, Full-time, 10.5 month Position


Job Description: The Retention/Advising Facilitator, under the direction of the Advising & Retention Coordinator, will implement a team approach to provide a proactive service for which student retention and persistence to graduation are the main priorities. The Facilitator will work with faculty and staff to enrich the learning environment so that strong, effective advising and retention programs are institutionalized at DCB. A broad range of activities and programs will be used to improve the college’s retention and graduation rates through student engagement in the learning process. The day-to-day operation and supervision of the retention/advising program will be a key component of the College’s enrollment management plan.

Intrusive advising and counseling, active outreach, and interceptive guidance will be used extensively as important tools implemented to gain the desired results.

A special focus for the position will be improving the retention and graduation rates for minority students.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field; evidence of successful and relevant college or high school teaching, counseling, or administration; successful leadership involvement; excellent communication and computer skills; ability to work with campus colleagues to promote student success.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Master’s degree or evidence of intention to complete an appropriate master’s degree, retention related work.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.

Administrative/Research Assistant, Full-time, 12 month Benefited Position


Job Description:  The individual hired for this fulltime, 12-month position will be responsible for assisting the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs with administrative and institutional research duties.   Administrative duties include, but are not limited to, general clerical work, preparing reports and brochures, assisting with program reviews, managing course and room schedules, coordinating course evaluations, managing files and confidential records, scheduling meetings, disseminating information, and planning events.  Research duties include compiling and analyzing institutional data and communicating the results in written and oral format.  The individual would also work collaboratively with the college’s grant writer on research tasks.

Clerk, Student Affairs, Full-time, 12 month Benefited Position


Job Description:   The function of the Student Services Clerk is to assist the Associate Dean of Student Services in directing and coordinating admissions and recruitment functions, registrar/registration functions, student health services, residential and student life, financial aid, student conduct/judicial policies, graduation and institutional research.  While this position serves as an assistant to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs there are several duties that are the sole responsibility of this employee. 
 
Required Qualifications:  1) Associate’s degree or education and experience equal to an Associate’s degree; 2) extensive knowledge and experience in the use of computer systems and application software including Microsoft Office Professional; 3) strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a detail oriented atmosphere; 4) excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people; and 5) ability to work independently.
 
Preferred Qualifications:  1) Bachelor’s degree; and 2) Experience in post-secondary education, particularly student records;
 
Additional Requirement: Successful applicant will be required to pass a criminal history background investigation prior to employment.

Residence Hall Director


Job Description: The residence hall director will manage and supervise the operation of a residence hall. Following are examples of the director’s responsibilities: supervise resident assistants, enforce residence hall regulations, policies, and procedures and adjudicate violations, coordinate custodial and maintenance activities, tend to building safety and security matters. The residence hall director will also foster student development. Following are examples of the director’s responsibilities: create and maintain an environment conducive to the development of social, cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities for students, assist with student activities. The hall director will also be responsible for a variety of administrative duties to include, but not limited to the following: assist with resident assistant selection and orientation, serve on committees, file and track work orders, manage key inventory and security, and compile census data. This position may also include one or more of the following responsibilities depending on qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS Required: Bachelor’s degree and evidence of successful and relevant supervision of a group living environment or work within an education setting.

QUALIFICATIONS Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and evidence of successful and relevant supervision in a college residential life setting or work in college student affairs.

SALARY: Open, depending on experience.
