AH 134 - Medical Disorders
3 Semester Hour Credits

Course Description: This course provides the student with a basic understanding of human diseases and appropriate interventions of these diseases. Content includes statistics, risk factors, signs and symptoms, diagnostic studies, and treatments specific to each disease/disorder.

Schedule: Fall, spring and summer semesters.This course follows the traditional on-campus schedule for beginning and ending dates.

Delivery Method: Online. Students are not expected to come to campus anytime.

Course Objectives: It is expected that students will be able to:

  • Discuss and understand common medical disorders/diseases of each body system

  • Identify treatments for common medical disorders/diseases

  • List the signs and symptoms of common system disorders

  • Identify basic diagnostic tests used to diagnose medical diseases/disorders

  • Describe causes, types, risk factors, and treatments of various types of cancer

Work Expectations:

  • Answer questions related to medical disorders.

Exams - Policies & Procedures:

  • All exams will be taken online

  • Exams can be taken at any computer with Internet access.

  • Four exams, each covering specified chapters, and a final comprehensive exam at the end of the course.

  • All exams are timed
