HLC 2020

Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Every ten years, colleges and universities on the Open Pathway undergo a comprehensive evaluation to ensure they are meeting the HLC Criteria for Accreditation, pursuing institutional improvement, and complying with certain requirements set by the U.S. Department of Education.

The Year 10: Comprehensive Evaluation for Reaffirmation of Accreditation includes submitting an Assurance Argument explaining how DCB complies with each HLC Criterion and Core Component. DCB submitted its Assurance Argument on March 9, 2020.

The Comprehensive Evaluation also includes hosting a team of HLC peer reviewers. DCB’s site visit is set for April 6-7, 2020, and will occur in a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Quality preparation is very important to the administration, faculty, and staff at DCB. To facilitate this preparation DCB Criterion Chairs developed Summary Sheets, Training Videos, and Criterion Newsletters.
